GHAAAA Cabin Pressure Kuala Lumpur
But. Still. The mystery passenger plot's funny. And it's Limerick next. That's a good one. Next week in fact! See you there. If you want to buy me a coffee, that would of course be lovely... but for Kuala-Lumpur? Are you sure? :)https://t.co/wytGVjDaEq

...But the main problem is that Martin is the protagonist in this episode (as he is in most), but doesn't get to make a choice over his fate. It's done over his head by Douglas and Carolyn. It sort of works... but it doesn't satisfy. #cabinpressure

And getting Martin to pass him the bottle at least means Martin leaves as 'co-conspiritor'. #cabinpressure

Now, at least, this isn't QUITE as confusing as I always thought it was. It's... improbable, but not unfollowable. #cabinpressure

I mean, this lying / Pisa thing is a half decent call back, at least. "I'm quite enigmatic." #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
...And Mrs Badcrumble is, obviously, an Eddie Izzard homage. In my head, it's a homage from Arthur, not me. Arthur's a massive Izzard fan. #cabinpressure

Mr Powell really did teach me history. #cabinpressure

I can't remember whether I specified the accents in the script, or whether Steph picked them. Either way, she's absolutely magnificent! #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
... and Martin's speech is very moving, so there #cabinpressure
— David Tyler (@DavidTylerPozz) August 2, 2020
So, a saving grace is that at least from now on Douglas is on Martin's side. #cabinpressure

"Wheatcakes". That made me laugh like a twerp and I was there at the time #cabinpressure
— David Tyler (@DavidTylerPozz) August 2, 2020
I also don't really believe Douglas would be into this sort of club. He'd look in now and then, but he wouldn't prop up the bar... #cabinpressure

This is my least favourite scene. No reflection on Benedict, who does a lovely job with it. But it just tips over into painful. #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
Carolyn's magnificent array of accents! #cabinpressure

Paul Putner is of course, by law, in every British comedy series that of more than six episodes. And for very good reason. Honoured to have him here now... #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
Oi, @RealPaulPutner , stop cleaning out your attic of 80s memorabilia and take a bow! #cabinpressure
— David Tyler (@DavidTylerPozz) August 2, 2020
All these scenes were such fun to perform. "This is brilliant, it's like acting!". Basically my inner monologue throughout the whole run... #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
And may we introduce, yes, @RealPaulPutner to #cabinpressure
— David Tyler (@DavidTylerPozz) August 2, 2020
Arthur does at least tell the dentist lie without falling over. So that's progress. #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
Hooray! Arthnold Manacatsaman! Second only to Arthur Milliner in Arthur's dazzling array of characters.... #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
Yayyy! I'd forgotten this was the Arthnold Manakatsaman episode #cabin[
— David Tyler (@DavidTylerPozz) August 2, 2020
So, this is a weird thing for Martin to want. I suppose it's a sort of Basil Fawlty thing - he yearns for a clubroom full o f smooth pilot colleagues. But either he wants community, or he doesn't... #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
People ask how Arthur passed his driving test. He's actually quite competent at rigidly defined skills and processes. #cabinpressure
— John Finnemore (@JohnFinnemore) August 2, 2020
... and we kick off with a discrete touch of Karl, this time from the splendid Roger Morlidge.... #cabinpressure

Ok! The Kuala Lumpur episode of Cabin Pressure about to start on Radio 4. Now... it's not my favourite, but it's got some good bits, mainly in the Carolyn / Arthur plot. So, I shall tweet along to it in this thread, and try not to be too downbeat... #cabinpressure

Just a few minutes to go before we livetweet #cabinpressure, so here's a little competition we put out at the time... pic.twitter.com/JItAp8fcar

One hour to go until Cabin Pressure on @BBCRadio4! This week - Kuala Lumpur!

A week on stand-by at the airfield gives Arthur an opportunity to brush up on his stewarding skills, while Douglas seems to have disappeared...
